Cajun Server Theme

Helleaux all! Over the past month, I’ve gotten a ton of pictures from nice people sharing their experiences with the hurricane. Unfortunately, my laptop crashed and had to be sent off to Sony to be repaired. The good news is that I still have everyone’s emails and pictures and while there was no loss of data, it will be awhile before I can get around to loading up my 2 gigabyte mailbox.

While my laptop was out of comission, I began working on upgrading all of the servers that support RealCajunRecipes.com. My current setup is pretty poodoo so I got three used enterprise-class servers off of eBay and now I’ll be able to sleep better at night.

With new servers comes finding new names for them. Most administrators name their network servers after some theme that’s easy to remember or related to the type of industry to which their employer belongs. I happened to name my servers after things found in Cajun culture. Here’s what I’ve currently got (including my personal laptop and backup machine):

pirogue, gumbo, boudreaux, okra, bisque, pickalee (pickalee is the name of an old Cajun man who used to ride his bike around Kaplan. I probably didn’t get the spelling right)

So now that I’ve got 3 new servers and the old ones will be retired, what do you Cajuns suggest I name these machines? Since the old boudreaux is going down, I’m thinking boudreaux, thibodoeaux and clotile. That’s a bit much to type multiple times a day, though ;)
